A long-standing strategic partnership is developing between Switzerland and Malta with the aim of building confidence and promoting peace and stability in the Mediterranean Region. Switzer-land supports the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies (MEDAC) through a resident Swiss professor and scholarships for junior diplomats from North Africa and the Middle East to take MEDAC's Master of Diplomacy.

L'installazione di un apparecchio per la PET scan all'ospedale «Mater Dei» contribuisce a migliorare l'infrastruttura per la diagnosi oncologica sull'isola di Malta. Finora, per ottenere una diagnosi, i pazienti dovevano recarsi all'estero o in una clinica privata, con oneri finanziari insostenibili per molti maltesi. I pazienti ottengono accesso alla PET scan indipendentemente dalla loro situazione economica.

The bilateral Framework Agreement foresees the possibility of utilizing a maximum of 1.5% of the total allocation to cover certain management costs in the beneficiary country. The technical as-sistance will support the submission of qualitative projects, transparent processes, and a good visibility of the Swiss Contribution in Malta.
