The SDC aims to deliver strong results with high effectiveness. By means of different types of reports, it informs the public about the results it achieves through its programmes, projects and strategies, and the extent to which the living conditions of the beneficiaries have been improved.
SDC reports
A new dispatch on Switzerland's international cooperation is adopted by the Federal Council every four years. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) also publish an end-term accountability report on their activities for each dispatch period.
The SDC and SECO also publish a joint annual report on Switzerland's international cooperation.
In addition, evaluations focusing on thematic, institutional or project-related aspects of Switzerland's international cooperation are conducted annually by independent teams of experts. The evaluation reports serve to ensure ongoing improvement in the work of the SDC.
Until 2018, the SDC also drew up reports on effectiveness that highlighted the improvements brought about in specific fields by SDC programmes and projects over a longer period of time. In future thematic evaluations will increasingly take the place of these reports on effectiveness.
