Berna, 18 de noviembre 2016 – Suiza firmó el 18 de noviembre de 2016 con México una declaración conjunta para introducir el intercambio efectivo de información en materia tributaria (AIE por sus siglas en inglés). Los dos países tienen la intención de recabar los datos de acuerdo con el estándar global a partir de 2018 y de proceder al intercambio efectivo a partir de 2019.

The first conference of States Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) meeting in Cancún has chosen Geneva as the site of its future permanent secretariat. The body will be responsible for regulating the trade in arms and preventing illegal sales.

Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter is to make a one-day official working visit to Mexico on 14 May 2015 where he will have talks with the Mexican Foreign Minister, José Antonio Meade Kuribreña. During his visit the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) will make a speech at the renowned Matías Romero Institute and will open the photographic exhibition entitled "War from the victims' perspective" by Jean Mohr to mark the 150th anniversary of the ICRC and the first Geneva Convention. Federal Councillor Burkhalter and Foreign Minister Meade will also sign a joint declaration on bilateral relations and an agreement on trilateral development projects in Central America.

The Swiss government (Federal Council) has approved the list of diplomatic staff transfers scheduled for 2014 submitted by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The changes will be made in accordance with the normal rate of transfers, to be communicated at the time of the decision by the Federal Council. The appointments of Heads of Mission take effect as soon as the authorities in the host country communicate their approval. The Federal Council takes this opportunity to express its gratitude to the Ambassadors due to retire for the services rendered.
Switzerland and Mexico sign agreement on trilateral development cooperation

Switzerland and Mexico intend to implement joint development projects with third countries in Latin America. An agreement to this effect on trilateral development cooperation was signed on 25 October 2013 in Montreux by Martin Dahinden, the director-general of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Juan Manuel Valle Pereña, the head of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID).
