Dear Visitors,
A warm welcome to the website of the Swiss Embassy in Singapore!
Far apart but close at heart: The relation between Switzerland and Singapore has become a success story. While diplomatic business between our two countries officially began in 1967, historical ties date back to the mid-19th century, when Swiss merchants settled in Singapore. Today, around 400 Swiss companies with more than 25,000 employees operate in Singapore. Together with nearly 3,000 Swiss citizens living here, the Swiss make for a small but well-organized and thriving community. Our presence is further enhanced, amongst others, by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Swiss Association in Singapore, the Swiss Club, and the Swiss School. The Swiss Embassy regularly coordinates and informs about the activities of all the different organizations to ensure the Swiss community’s wellbeing.
Switzerland and Singapore have much in common. Both being small in size, we are strongly committed to a rules-based international order, with governance based on effectiveness, transparency and trust. Ranked among the most innovative countries globally, both states have a strong focus on technology and innovation to drive their economies. Well established Swiss innovation centers and educational institutions in Singapore are shining examples of our shared mission. In addition, newly emerging areas such as fintech or sustainable finance offer promising new opportunities for collaboration. We are convinced that by exchanging ideas, learning from one another and working together we can further grow our strong bilateral relations.
Thank you for browsing our website! We hope you will find it helpful.
