The Armenian Government has issued a nationwide quarantine regime until January 11th, 2021 which keeps the hygiene and social distancing rules in place. The following measures have been taken to prevent the spread of the virus and will have an impact on travels:

Any person entering the Republic of Armenia can either provide a negative COVID-19 PCR-test result upon arrival (not older than 72 hours) or do a test upon arrival with quarantine until the result is known. Click here for more information.

Foreign citizens can leave the country only through aerial way. According to the current situation the following airlines are operating:

Belavia airlines operates regular daily flights to Yerevan and offers flights to several European destination, such as Amsterdam, Paris, Münich, etc. Please find more information on the dates of the flights on their website.

Air France operates Yerevan – Paris flights. Tickets are available on the website of Air France or through Saberatours! www.airfrance.am

Austrian Airlines operates Yerevan - Vienna flights. However, Austrian Airlines cancelled their flights between Yerevan – Vienna between November 17th until December 17th 2020.

Qatar Airways operates daily flights to Yerevan.

The Embassy will do its utmost to keep an updated list of operational airlines but you are also advised to double-check with other sources as well since the situation is continuously evolving.

*Due to the ongoing conflict, the Government of Armenia has declared a martial law on September 27, 2020. 

*As of July 6th 2020 Swiss citizens who go on holiday to a number of countries including Armenia, will have to quarantine themselves for ten days on their return to Switzerland. These countries are on the list of all areas deemed to be at risk of Covid-19 infection published by the FDFA. Furthermore, since October 29th 2020 Switzerland has a mandatory country-wide mask-wearing policy in all closed public spaces, some outdoor public places and introduced further rules and restrictions to combat the spread of the pandemic. *Travelers must keep in mind their personal responsibility according to the Swiss Abroad Act (Auslandschweizergesetz ASG), as well as the fact that they have to accept alternative, cumbersome travel routes and have to bear the corresponding costs.

The Embassy recommends Swiss travelers to use the Travel Admin application available for iOS and Android.

The Travel Admin tool provides you with the possibility to enter the dates of travels abroad (short stays) on this portal. This information will help the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs locate and contact you more rapidly if a situation abroad can affect your safety. You will receive an SMS if the security situation in a region changes.
