Dear Compatriots, the Embassy would like to inform you that the Armenian government has declared the state of emergency in the country from March 16, 2020 until June 13, 2020. The following measures have been taken to prevent the spread of the virus and will have an impact on travels:

According to the decision of the Government of Armenia of 03.04, from 07.04 on, no foreign citizen can enter the country, except if they are family members of RA citizens or RA resident status holders.

Foreign citizens can leave the country only through aerial way (provided airlines still operate their flights). According to the current situation, as of June 24, 09:30AM:

Belavia airlines (according to their website) offers the flights:

Yerevan-Minsk-Amsterdam on June 25, 27, 28, July 1, 2, 4,
Yerevan-Minsk-Paris on June 25, 27, 28, July 1, 2, 4,
Yerevan-Minsk-Munich June 28, 29, July 2, 5.

However, due to the uncertain situation, cancellations may happen.

According to the possible upcoming flight schedules, the following airlines will operate flights:

Aegean airlines - starting from July 01 ;
Aeroflot airlines - starting from August 01;
Air France - starting from July 18;
LOT airlines - starting from July 18;
Austrian airlines - starting from August 31;
Qatar airlines - starting from July 22;
Aircompany Armenia - starting from July 01.

Please note that it is very likely that some companies will extend their suspensions. The Embassy will do its utmost to keep an updated list of operational airlines but you are also advised to double-check with other sources as well since the situation is continuously evolving.

*As of July 6th 2020 Swiss citizens who go on holiday to a number of countries including Armenia, will have to quarantine themselves for ten days on their return to Switzerland. These countries are on the list of 29 areas deemed to be at risk of Covid-19 infection published on July 2nd 2020 by the FDFA.

*Travelers must keep in mind their personal responsibility according to the Swiss Abroad Act (Auslandschweizergesetz ASG), as well as the fact that they have to accept alternative, cumbersome travel routes and have to bear the corresponding costs.

Travel Admin application

The Embassy recommends Swiss travelers to use the Travel Admin application available for iOS and Android.

The Travel Admin tool provides you with the possibility to enter the dates of travels abroad (short stays) on this portal. This information will help the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs locate and contact you more rapidly if a situation abroad can affect your safety. You will receive an SMS if the security situation in the destination country changes.
