Which documents should I submit with a national visa application?

The application will be forwarded to the competent cantonal authorities in Switzerland for a decision. The Embassy of Switzerland can only issue the visa after approval by the competent authorities. The total processing time is approximately 8-12 weeks. This time is an approximation only and may vary considerably depending on the canton responsible and the elements of the application.

The visa application will be sent to Addis Abeba by weekly courier and submitted by the Embassy to the competent office for migration in Switzerland for decision.
The processing time for a national visa D is up to several weeks or months. More specific information can be given by the competent cantonal migration office in Switzerland only.
The applicant may contact in written form the Embassy of Switzerland in Addis Abeba after two months earliest to inquire about the status of the application.
Once the authorization to enter Switzerland has been granted, the passport can be submitted to the Programme office SDC and Consular Agency in Juba by the applicant or by an authorized third person during the opening hours without prior appointment. The passport will be sent to the Embassy of Switzerland in Addis Abeba by weekly courier for the issuance of the visa and returned to Juba the following week. The exact pick up date of the passport will be communicated to you by the Programme office SDC and Consular Agency in Juba.
