On July 3rd and 4th, Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs Mrs. Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch paid an official visit to Singapore.

Among the goals of her visit were to continue the dialogue on international economic topics and on bilateral trade relations with the Singaporean counterparts, to meet with the Swiss business community and to promote the investments between our two countries. Singapore is Switzerland’s most important trading partner in Southeast Asia and Switzerland is the 5th largest investor in Singapore.

During her stay, State Secretary Ineichen met with Mrs OW Foong Pheng, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, as well as with the Managing Director of the Economic Development Board, Mr Yeoh Keat Chuan. She also made a presentation to the Swiss Business Association about the current challenges and chances for the Swiss Economy. In addition, she visited the Swiss companies Metalor Technologies Gold Refinery, Art Plural Gallery and the St. Gallen Institute.

State Secretary Ineichen was also interviewed for the Business Times Swiss National Day supplement, which will appear on the 1st of August.
