Switzerland is improving equitable access to and use of quality health care.

Despite significant progress in reducing child mortality, maternal mortality is still unacceptably high in Tanzania and the country continues to suffer from a high HIV incidence rate. Switzerland remains a partner of a donor financing mechanism (Health Basket Fund) and continues to advocate for strengthened primary health care. Switzerland intends to intensity its focus on the delivery of quality health services, particularly for women and youth.

Switzerland will contribute to:

  1. Improved planning, management, and reporting on health services

  2. Strengthened social health protection and financing mechanisms

  3. Effective interventions and strategies to further reduce malaria prevalence and incidence
