Training System for Professional Staff of the Judiciary

The goal of the project is to improve the qualifications of the professional judiciary staff working in courts and state prosecutions in the Czech Republic. The project will provide an uniform system of training and develop E-courses for basic and further training of the staff.

SDC's Global Programme on Climate Change recognises that the shift towards a low carbon development model requires the promotion of clear energy systems based on renewable'energy. The use of decentralised energy systems based on biomass gasification technology offer one such opportunity. Relevance of intervention; Rural areas in India suffer from lack of quality electncity supply. Decentralised power generation is promoted through all the programmes of Govt of India, Many small industries in India and remote infrastructure establishment such as communication towers are exploring energy solutions that are based on renewable energy resources. The use of biomass gasification technology for heat and power applications is an area of growing relevance. The Govt of India's mission to Green India acknowledges the role of forests in providing livelihoods to local communities and also their role in protecting the forest resource This offers a new opportunity to organise the biomass supply for clean energy use in a sustainable manner.

Improving Food Security and Land Governance through Investment Standards

While increased public and private investment in agriculture is necessary after decades of underinvestment, the quality of such investment is critical to have a positive impact on poverty reduction, food security and sustainable development. The legal and policy frameworks governing trade, foreign investment and agricultural production need to be progressively aligned or better integrated. Collaborations with selected governments and parliamentarians and with relevant commodity standards offer effective entry points for fostering investment in land and water that improve the livelihoods of the rural poor.

Contribution to "Population and Housing Census" (PHC) in Kosovo

La préparation du recensement par les autorités kosovares a démarré en 2005, avec le soutien du Bureau de liaison de la Communauté européenne (ECLO). Enterriné par le parlement, le recensement a été agendé pour avril 2011. Un fund commun de plusieurs bailleurs de fonds a été créé pour couvrir le budget manquant. Ce projet s'inscrit dans la stratégie de coopération suisse au Kosovo qui vise a renforcer les institutions du nouvel état (domaine Etat de Droit et Démocratie). Par ailleurs, les données fournies par le recensement sont essentielles à la planification de programmes.
