Programme de développement social en milieu urbain (PDSU)Programme de développement économique local et de sécurité alimentaire à Koutiala

Le Programme Sigida Kura a permis d’améliorer les capacités de planification et de gestion des 37  collectivités territoriales du cercle de Koutiala qui ont réalisé des infrastructures permettant d’améliorer  la sécurité alimentaire dans le cercle, d’augmenter les revenus des producteurs et de créer plus de 230 emplois permanents. Avec cette dernière phase, la DDC poursuit son accompagnement aux collectivités territoriales qui mettent en place un cadre durable de leur développement économique local.

TUR IRC Protection Center for Women and Girls in Osmaniye

There are 2,2 million Syrian refugees in Turkey. Women and girls - who constitute half of this population - are particularly vulnerable to abuse, exploitation and the denial of rights. As a systematic response to their protection needs is today still lacking, they often have difficulties in accessing general refugee assistance schemes for their specific needs. This project in Osmaniye province (southern Turkey) will therefore create a center especially dedicated to providing services and support to female refugees.

Collaborative effort to address the global sanitation and hygiene challenge

The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) is an organisation committed to address the sanitation and hygiene challenge. The SDC will go further at the global level with a strong knowledge exchange, advocacy and communication on these issues. Through the Global Sanitation Fund – the Council’s operational arm – at least 20 most sanitation needy countries will be supported in implementing their national sanitation plans and strategies benefiting millions of poor people in the next 5 years.

Contribution to Rural Housing Reconstruction Project (RHRP)

01.01.2016 - 30.06.2025

Rural households affected by the earthquake of April 25, 2015, especially from disadvantaged groups, will rebuild earthquake resistant houses through the RHRP, the Government’s lead project for housing reconstruction. With a total contribution of 7 million CHF, the Swiss support through a Multi-Donor Trust Fund managed by the World Bank, will enable an additional 3’500 rural households to rebuild. The contribution will be complemented by technical assistance through secondments and experts provided also by SDC/HA.

Local Governance Program Nicaragua-APIM

01.01.2016 - 31.12.2020

The final phase aims to capitalize and to transfer best practices of public investment cycle into national norms. The program will smoothly phase out the earmarked budget support to 15 municipalities in order to i) strengthen capacities to manage municipal investments plans for rural feeder roads and basic services; and ii) ensure sustainability, inclusive governance and transparency. Best practices and experiences will be documented and disseminated.

Through the usage of food aid in the form of Swiss dairy products, Swiss Humanitarian Aid contributes to the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, undernourishment, and disease. The SDC’s Humanitarian Aid administers the credit granted by parliament for a yearly amount of some CHF 20 million destined for the purchase of Swiss dairy products and their use for the benefit of the needy. Its task is to ensure a sustainable, targeted, and closely monitored food aid.

Contribution to UNRWA's General Fund 2016

The contribution to UNRWA’s 2016 General Fund (regular budget) will allow sustaining the Agency’s humanitarian and human development programmes that service over 5 Mio Palestine refugees and contribute to peace and stability in the Middle East. The key programmes in education, health, relief and social services are primarily funded from the General Fund, which has remained critically under-funded for a number of years.
