Southwestern Carpathian Wilderness and Sustainable Development Initiatives

The project was aimd to contribute significantly to the preservation of the Southwestern Carpathians as Europe’s premier wilderness area, demonstrating opportunities for conservation and management of wilderness areas including the implementation of EU legislation and support of local and regional development. The project was part of the thematic fund civil society participation in Romania.  

Natura 2000 and Rural Development in Romania

The project was aimed at improving the implementation of the EU Natura 2000 and national protected area network and was promoting sustainable rural development in Romania by demonstrating local development opportunities related to protected areas, better integration of protected area and natural resource management in infrastructure planning and regional development and improving long-term financial support for protected area and natural resource management. The project was part of the thematic fund civil society participation in Romania.

Local Gouvernance Initative and Network (LOGIN)

10 member countries of the LOGIN network gain knowledge through peer learning and apply learning in their practice. As a result they are able to fulfill assigned responsibilities more effectively and advance implementation of jointly identified DLG reform priorities. The network approach will serve as instrument for promoting cross-country learning and linkage building. Establishing synergies and complementarity between LOGIN activities and SDC programs has the potential to advance reforms and to increase scale and effectiveness of SDC programs.

Promotion des mutuelles de santé au Tchad

Le programme vise à contribuer à l’émergence d’un mouvement mutualiste structuré et fort en valorisant les atouts de la gouvernance mutualiste et d’une gestion professionnelle de la micro assurance maladie. En facilitant l’accès financier à des soins de santé de qualité, le dispositif de solidarité mis en place permettra d’améliorer l’état de santé des populations du secteur informel et agricole, et concourra à la réalisation de l’engagement de l’Etat tchadien d’atteindre la couverture universelle en santé (CUS).

Development Cooperation Forum 2012-14: High Level Symposium on the future of development cooperation

The Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) is the United Nation’s platform on Development Cooperation. Since its inception in 2007 the DCF takes place bi-annually as part of ECOSOC High Level Segment. Switzerland has been a major supporter of the DCF since the beginning. The DCF 2012-14 takes place in the context of the post-2015 debate. Switzerland has decided to play an active role in this DCF cycle in organizing a High Level DCF Symposium in Montreux in October 2013. “The Future of Development Cooperation” will be the theme of the symposium. The outcomes will contribute to the DCF 2014 and help to clarify the role of development cooperation in the post-2015 agenda. It will take into account the shifted poverty geography, new channels of finance and the role new development actors.

La DDC soutien activement l’autonomisation des ONG locales issues de ses programmes. Elle contribue pour une dernière phase de 3 ans au programme de l’ONG APDI qui répond aux défis socio-économiques et culturels des communautés rurales du Moyen Chari. Le programme vise la diversification et la valorisation des productions agricoles, le renforcement de la qualité des systèmes d’éducation et de santé et des capacités de gestion du développement local. Il se concentre sur trois cantons et collabore étroitement avec les acteurs locaux et les services déconcentrés de l’Etat.

Promoción del pluralismo y de la diversidad de opiniones en los medios de comunicación marroquíes

La COSUDE financia un proyecto en Marruecos que cuenta con la participación de profesionales de los medios de comunicación y de responsables políticos con el fin de promover la libertad de prensa y la diversidad de opiniones en los medios. Esta iniciativa tiene su origen en el proceso de reforma constitucional del año 2011 y se ha acreditado durante el último período de legislatura en septiembre y octubre de 2015.

OIM: Assistance aux populations déplacées dans le Nord-Kivu, DRC, par la gestion et la coordination des sites

Suite aux différentes crises sécuritaires qui ont secoué l’Est de la RDC, et plus particulièrement le Nord Kivu ces dernières années, et en raison des menaces constantes d’insécurité qui pèsent encore sur la région, les camps et sites de Personnes Déplacées Internes (PDIs) accueillent toujours plus de 375 000 personnes dans cette Province. Les sites de déplacés du Masisi reçoivent moins d’attention et l’aide humanitaire n’est pas suffisamment coordonnée en raison de l’accès plus difficile de ce territoire. Le financement de la DDC permettra de soutenir la mise en œuvre immédiate d’un système de gestion des sites spontanés dans la région du Masisi.

La integración social de los niños roma a través de la escuela

En Serbia, como en otros países de Europa del Este, no todos los niños tienen la misma oportunidad de ir a la escuela. La COSUDE trabaja desde 2004 en el país a fin de asegurar la integración de los niños roma o con discapacidad en las escuelas de preescolar y primarias. Cuanto más pronto se combata la marginación de los más vulnerables, mayor será su posibilidad de integrarse en la sociedad en el transcurso de los años.
