Economic cooperation
In 2023, Switzerland imported goods worth CHF 1 billion from Suriname, primarily precious stones and metals. Swiss exports to Suriname amounted to CHF 1.9 million and consisted mainly of chemical and related products, machinery and pharmaceutical products.

Cooperation in education, research and innovation
Researchers and artists who are citizens of Suriname can apply to the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships.
