International Career Day ICD
The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) organises an International Career Day (ICD) once a year. It invites university students and recent graduates to meet representatives of a large number of international organisations, to learn about the work they do and employment opportunities. The next ICD is scheduled for spring 2027.
The ICD offers young professionals and students at Swiss universities a platform to meet with representatives of international organisations and find out about jobs and career opportunities in the multilateral environment. More than 50 high-profile international organisations from different sectors attend the ICD every year to provide first-hand information and answer visitors' questions about internships and part-time positions as well as entry-level opportunities and eligibility.
The ICD has grown significantly in terms of both participant and visitor numbers since its launch in 2003. It was held in Bern in 2017, in Basel in 2018, in St Gallen in 2019, as a virtual event in 2021, in Fribourg in 2022, in Lucerne in 2023, in Lausanne in 2024 and in Bern in 2025.
Admission is free of charge. More information on the next ICD will be posted on this website closer to the date.
