Accreditations from 2026
The accreditation process and access to the media centre in Bern have been reorganised based on the Federal Council's decision of 20 June 2025. As of 1 August 2025, all media professionals require permanent accreditation or a day accreditation pass from the Federal Chancellery to access the media centre and take part in any conferences held there. Foreign media journalists are now subject to the same accreditation criteria as Swiss media journalists.
Further information can be found on the Federal Chancellery's website (de, fr, it).
The Parliamentary Services control access to the Parliament Building. Further information can be found on the Parliamentary Services' website.
Because of these new rules, the FDFA will no longer accredit foreign media journalists in Switzerland. Any existing accreditation passes will remain valid until the end of 2025.
The FDFA will continue to provide foreign media representatives with information and invitations to FDFA media events. You can also subscribe to media invitations via the News and press events platform of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations Office and to the other international organisations in Geneva.
