Return flights organized by the FDFA – an overview

#flyinghome: The FDFA organised 35 return flights and brought some 4200 Swiss travellers back to Switzerland from all continents

The FDFA carried out 35 flights as part of its repatriation operation. As a result, around 4200 Swiss travellers were able to return from various countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia, Oceania and Europe. In addition, the chartered aircrafts brought back some 2500 foreign passengers to Europe, many of whom are resident in Switzerland. Conversely, numerous Swiss nationals were accommodated on special flights operated by other countries. The Swiss representations on the ground also arranged these return trips in many cases.

The FDFA's repatriation action, the largest ever in the history of Switzerland, has thus largely come to an end. No further return flights are currently planned. The focus is now on providing assistance to those persons who for various reasons cannot or do not wish to return to Switzerland. The FDFA offers them support and consular protection within the scope of its possibilities.

Number of return flights organized by the FDFA: 35

Returned Swiss nationals: about 4200

The FDFA was also able to arrange seats for numerous Swiss travellers on flights organised by other countries.
