Switzerland and Brazil are historic and strategic partners with intense bilateral relations in the political, economic, scientific and sustainability fields. Switzerland has a long-standing commitment to sustainability in Brazil through extensive bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation on topics such as the bioeconomy, tropical agriculture and forest management, water governance and projects with civil society and indigenous peoples. COP30 is a unique opportunity for Switzerland to strengthen this engagement. In this context, Switzerland has created the Road to Belem program, which brings together various activities of the Swiss network in Brazil (Embassy, Consulates General and Honorary Consulates, Swissnex, Swiss Business Hub, Swiss Leading House St. Gallen, Swisscam, Swiss private sector) with the aim of promoting economic development and prosperity through the identification of sustainable, shared and innovative solutions

Swiss-Brazilian Infrastructure Forum: since 2023, the Forum has been a reference event on decarbonization, energy transition, climate change and infrastructure resilience. The second edition, in October 2024, was inaugurated by authorities from both countries and was attended by more than 350 high-level participants (institutions, regulators, companies and the financial sector).

Sustainable reconstruction of Casa Goeldi: this public-private collaboration with Swiss and Brazilian partners, such as the famous Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron, is planned to be the “House of Switzerland” for our partners and activities during COP30. Later, this space will be dedicated to activities related to science, cultural life and the protection of this region of the Amazon, as well as meetings between local communities and researchers.

Exhibition “The Swiss-Brazilian Legacy in the Amazon: Art, Science and Sustainability”: developed with the Emilio Goeldi Museum of Pará and the Oswaldo Goeldi Cultural Artistic Association, it presents Switzerland's commitment to the Amazon in the fields of art, science and sustainability. In November 2024, the traveling exhibition will be in Rio de Janeiro, then in Salvador on the occasion of the Bahia Montreux Jazz Festival (May 9-10, 2025) and in other locations before ending its tour in Belém.

nexBio program: this activity brings together Swiss and Brazilian startups and researchers to explore the bioeconomy in the Amazon by integrating local and international knowledge, innovation and experience.

Swiss Innovation and Sustainability Award in Brazil: the second edition will recognize the Swiss and Brazilian companies and startups that win the innovation and sustainability challenges.

COP 30 in the Amazon - Shaping Our Planetary Future: Presented by Swissnex, in partnership with Swiss open access publisher Frontiers and AYA Earth Partners, this session at the Swiss House in Davos will explore how to harness science, traditional knowledge and technology to achieve a new balance between humans and the Earth system.

5th Global Conference of the Sustainable Food Systems Program of the One Planet Network: The conference aims to explore practical solutions for the convergence of food systems, nutrition, climate, biodiversity, livelihoods, equality and other related policy agendas.

Swiss Pavilion: The Swiss Pavilion is the space where Swiss companies meet key stakeholders to demonstrate how their innovations contribute to sustainability and the fight against climate change in Belem, Brazil and the world. In doing so, we promote Swiss-Brazilian partnerships, connect researchers, government representatives and industrial partners, and generate new business opportunities for Swiss companies.
