Dear visitor,
Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ireland.
I hope these pages will allow you to discover the richness of the relations between Switzerland and Ireland and answer all the political and administrative questions you might have.
Relations between our two countries are excellent; our economic exchanges are high, and growing – Ireland is Switzerland’s 15th largest trading partner with a total trade volume of CHF 6.3 billion in 2023 – and our mutual investments are significant. However, there is still great potential for development; many areas of collaboration and exchange possibilities remain to be explored, particularly in the areas of new technologies and the environment.
On a political point of view, our dedication to the European community of values unites us in pursuit of stability, security, and shared prosperity. Upholding democracy, human rights, and international law are not just principles for us; they are fundaments of our respective foreign policies, essential for sustainable, peaceful and inclusive development.
In the current geopolitical landscape, collaboration among nations that share these values is more important than ever. I therefore aim to explore all possible avenues to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Switzerland and Ireland.
To achieve this, I can count on a team, albeit small but motivated, that includes my colleagues at the Embassy in Dublin, our two Swiss Honorary Consuls in Dundalk and Eyeries, as well as colleagues from the Regional Consular Centre in London, responsible for Swiss consular affairs for Ireland. I am also pleased to be able to count on a Swiss community in Ireland of almost 2,000 people, who contribute substantially to the good relations between Switzerland and Ireland.
I look forward to receiving any suggestions and wish you a fruitful visit to the Embassy’s website.
Jenny Piaget
Ambassador
