Welcome to the website of the Swiss Embassy to Ireland.

The diplomatic presence of Switzerland in Ireland started 75 years ago, with the opening of a Legation, which became an Embassy in 1962. Since then, the Embassy has been providing services for the Swiss community living in or visiting Ireland as well as promoting political, economic, cultural links between our two countries

Switzerland streamlined its consular services to London last year. It means that the needs of Swiss citizens living or on temporary stay in Ireland are being met by our colleagues at the Regional Consular Centre in London. As a consequence the Embassy is now able to more closely focus its work on furthering Swiss interests in Ireland.

It is my honor to be the most recent in a long line of Swiss Ambassadors to Ireland. I am looking forward to an exciting posting in Dublin. As a newcomer to this country, it will be my goal to further the ties with our Irish friends and most importantly with the Swiss community living in Ireland, which, albeit small, also represents the interest of Switzerland in Ireland, by promoting cultural, commercial, scientific and academic exchanges.

In the meantime, please enjoy discovering our website which will provide you with overall information about Switzerland and its political system.
