Since the opening of our Embassy in Yangon in 2012, Switzerland has been dedicated to strengthening the bonds between our two nations, promoting dialogue, understanding, and collaboration across a range of fields.

Myanmar is a country of immense cultural richness, natural beauty, and potential. Despite the challenges it faces, I am continually inspired by the resilience, warmth, and hospitality of its people. In response to the complex crisis and pressing needs in Myanmar, our current Swiss Cooperation Programme 2024–27 with a budget CHF 29.5 million per year, combines instruments of development cooperation, humanitarian aid, peacebuilding, and human rights diplomacy. This comprehensive approach is designed to address the multifaceted challenges the country faces, with a focus on supporting the most vulnerable communities.

Our goal is to support the efforts of all parties to the conflict and other key actors to develop their own processes and pathways towards a non-violent and inclusive solution that paves the way for lasting peace and stability in Myanmar.
