The Wonders by Alice Rohrwacher to be presented at the Tbilisi Film Festival 2014

It was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or in the main competition section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, where it was awarded with the Grand Prix.

The film is heavily inspired by the director’s own childhood in the countryside between Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany. It centers on a family of bee-keepers, and particularly 12-year-old Gelsomina the eldest of four sisters and the notional heiress to this tradigeorgtional and increasingly rare way of life.
