High-level delegation from Switzerland to visit Kyrgyzstan

On 14 May, a high-level delegation from the Government of Switzerland will arrive in Bishkek to strengthen cooperation ties with the Kyrgyz Republic and familiarize with the results of the Swiss funded projects implemented in Kyrgyzstan. 

Francophonie Week 2024 in Bishkek

The French Alliance in Bishkek is happy to announce the holding of the 2024 edition of the Week of the Francophonie from 5 to 13 April. The week of events is organised jointly with the Embassies of France, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, Morocco and the Delegation of the European Union. The programme includes educational, cultural and entertainment events. This year's festival theme is "Tales of Francophonie".

Health month among men launched in Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic announces the start of the republican campaign "Be Responsible!" targeting men aged 18 and above to identify risk factors that can lead to noncommunicable diseases. Throughout the month of February, men are encouraged to visit local primary care facilities for medical consultations.

Switzerland team up with WFP to improve the living conditions of the residents of Social Inpatient Institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic

The Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration Mr. Kudaibergen Bazarbaev, the Ambassador of Switzerland Mr.Olivier Bangerter and the WFP Representative and Country Director Mr.Kojiro Nakai visited the Jaiyl Psychoneurological Social Inpatient Institution (SII) on March 28 upon completion of the refurbishment works for the project aimed at improving the living conditions of people residing in targeted SIIs across the country.

A new air communication between Bishkek and Abu Dhabi is expected to be launched in June 2023

As part of creating favorable conditions for the development of international air services, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) with Swiss support helped conduct a detailed analysis of the potential of Manas International Airport JSC (JSC “MAM”) and its comparative advantages for expanding the international flights geography. Priority routes with the greatest potential for development were identified, and detailed recommendations were developed for each route in the form of an airline development plan.
