The Norwegian artist Thomas Fearnley sketched landscapes on his journey to Ticino and the Bernese Oberland in 1835. His painting of the upper Grindelwald glacier represents an important role in landscape painting. On the occasion of the Swiss literature festival «Seetaler Poesiesommer» the geographer and art historian Prof. Dr. Heinz J. Zumbühl will participate in an event at the «Nasjonalgalleriet» in Oslo and talk about weather history and pictorial representation. In addition, the musician Hansruedi Zeder from Lucerne will be playing pieces on the clavichord and the artist Annette Korolnik-Andersch from Ticino is contributing with a visual performance. The event is enriched by literary passages of the «priest of the glacier» Gottfried Strasser.
