
The project objective aims to improve the energy efficiency for buildings of two schools - National College of Computer Science "Grigore Moisil" and School no. 4, by reducing energy consumption, CO2 emissions and the maintenance costs. Ensuring and maintaining of an adequate indoor climate and improving the urban aspect of the city are also targeted.
Among the expected outcomes of the project are the improvement of working conditions in the two schools, improvement of the energy classes of buildings - from class D (Grigore Moisil, old wing) or C (Grigore Moisil, new wing and School N°4) to class B, energy savings - 507 MWh/year, out of which 461 MWh/year natural gas and 46 MWh/year electricity, cost savings for maintenance - CHF 49'000/year. The reducing of CO2 emissions in the context of the current project is estimated at 126 tons / year.
The two partner states were represented by His Excellency Jean-Hubert Lebet, Ambassador of Switzerland to Romania representing the financing state, Mr György Attila, State Secretary in the Ministry of Public Finance, which acts as the National Coordination Unit of the Programme Mrs Sirma Caraman, State Secretary in the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration, as Intermediate Body for Area 4 of the Swiss - Romanian Programme and Mr George Scripcaru, mayor of the Brașov municipality.
The total project value is CHF 2,980,791, out of which CHF 2,447,364 represents the eligible budget, composed of the Swiss grant amounting to CHF 2,080,000 and the beneficiary's co-financing amounting to CHF 367,364. The project implementation is foreseen to 24 months.
