It is an honor to welcome you to the official website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Madrid, which represents the Swiss Confederation to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra.

Our primary mission is to promote and strengthen bilateral relations with both countries, defend Swiss interests, and support our fellow citizens residing or passing through. To achieve this, we rely on the valuable support of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Barcelona, as well as a network of six Honorary Consulates distributed across various regions.

It is a great personal and professional pleasure for me to lead this mission for two fundamental reasons.

First, I wish to emphasize the depth and solidity of the relations between Switzerland and Spain, characterized by intense, diverse, and cordial cooperation. These ties encompass numerous areas such as the economy and trade, science and technological innovation, culture, and multilateral cooperation, nourished by shared values as well as close human connections thanks to the Swiss community in Spain and the Spanish community in Switzerland.

Second, representing Switzerland in Spain is not only a privilege but also the fulfillment of a vocation cultivated since the beginning of my diplomatic career. Contributing to the strengthening of these bilateral relations is a task I undertake with dedication and deep commitment.

Regarding the Principality of Andorra, our diplomatic relations were established in 1995, therefore we celebrate in 2025 the 30th anniversary of a fruitful collaboration. Switzerland and Andorra share multiple affinities: both are mountainous countries, maintain close ties with the European Union without being members, and have significant financial sectors. These common characteristics provide an ideal framework for enriching and sustained dialogue.
