Switzerland at the 2018 Taipei International Book Exhibition

Organized by the Trade Office of Swiss Industries, the Swiss Booth at the 2018 Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) which lasted for 6 consecutive days and attracted over 500,000 visitors has set the spotlight on Swiss literature and culture. A wide selection of published works including novels, essays, design, architecture and children’s books were presented to the public in 4 different languages: German, French, Italian and English. Three books introducing Switzerland in diverse aspects, written in traditional Chinese language by Swiss-Taiwanese authors Ya-Hui Henguely and Ya-Ting Stutz, were also featured.

TIBE has grown to be one of the most important book fair in Asia; President Tsai Ing-Wen attended the opening ceremony for the first time and even shared her book list during her remarks. “Books don’t just give us knowledge, they allow us to make new friends” said President Tsai.
