The 46th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum will be held in Davos from 20 to 23 January 2016.  Countless influential politicians, business leaders and scientists gather each year during this key international event.

Location: Davos

From 20 to 23 January, Switzerland hosts an international platform of discussion which addresses world problems. Six members of the Federal Council participate in the event. 

The head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Didier Burkhalter will take part in the 46th World Economic Forum to cultivate relations and hold bilateral talks. Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter will meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Jawad Zarif and the foreign ministers of France, Italy and Austria, Laurent Fabius, Paolo Gentiloni and Sebastian Kurz. He will also hold bilateral talks with the new Polish foreign minister, Witold Waszczykowski, and the new Argentinian foreign minister, Susana Malcorra.
