Successful performance of young Tajik musicians

Young musicians from Northern Tajikistan won the second place at the third International festival "Navruz Sadolari” in Tashkent Uzbekistan on 25-27 March 2017.

The annual competition-festival, being held since 2007, and starting from 2015 acquired the international status. Current festival is dedicated to the year of "Dialogue with the people and human interests”.

Children Ensemble of national instruments of Khujand under the lead of Zamirakhon Juraeva and Dilshod Hamrokulov presented Tajikistan in the event. The participation and performance of young Tajik talents was highly welcomed and appreciated by audience of Tashkent. Central Asian traditional music is usually taught on the "master-apprentice" approach and performed without notes. And the specificity of the festival-competition was in the performing based on notes with traditional instruments (ghidjak, doira, rubob, dutor).

As the lead of Tajik ensemble Zamirakhon Juraeva mentioned: "We had been preparing children for 3 years for this Festival. Our young talented children are very enthusiastic to participate in such International event and eager to meet other countries participants”

During the gala concert participants from Tajikistan awarded the prize for "Second place" for their professional performance of traditional Tajik and Uzbek music following the given tasks and frameworks of the festival.

The three-day juried fest featured over 650 young performers from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, who presented a variety of music renditions at the Conservatory. The participants of the current festival are children’s ensembles and orchestras of folk instruments from the music and art lyceums and colleges of four countries.

The Festival included concerts, conducting master classes, workshops for solo instruments, and a conference that focused on the tasks of the secondary music education system.

The Festival of multi-voiced ensembles and orchestras of national instruments of 2017 was organized by Chamber Orchestra of Folk Instruments "Sogdiana  and national music organizations of Uzbekistan in collaboration with Swiss Central Asia Regional Arts and Culture Programme.
