Youth Development Programme

The Youth Development Programme (YDP) will assist Mongolia in building the resilience of young men and women and reducing their vulnerability in the face of rapid social and economic change. It will focus on youth in mining areas, and vulnerable young men and women in urban areas and the Western aimags. The Programme will enhance the life-skills of 244,000 young men and women, equipping them with skills for a responsible and resilient life.

Citizens demand for better public health service delivery

Every day women and children die due to poor health service delivery in Mozambique. Unaware of their rights and entitlements young mothers are often not educated or empowered enough to demand acceptable quality mother and child health services and accountability within the public health sector. This intervention will engage citizens and civil society organizations with a focus on women and children, to monitor and advocate for the improvement of these services in selected Districts of Cabo Delgado and Niassa Provinces.

Strengthening Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Systems for OVC&Y Programming in SADC

The project strengthens the Monitoring and Evaluation system for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and Youth (OVC&Y) among Member States of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The project includes the training of key personnel, the inclusion of standardised OVC&Y indicators into already existing national data collection and reporting systems. Through such a system, Member States will be able to make sound evidence based decisions on issues that are relevant for OVC&Y, in particular on HIV and AIDS programming.

Project Planned: Institutional support for the Myanmar Center for Vocational Training

Myanmar is set to enter a period of unprecedented rapid economic growth, enhanced by regional trade and labor flow foreseen with the entry to the ASEAN Community in 2015. Yet Myanmar’s laborers are undereducated and underskilled to take advantage of the opportunities. SDC provides institutional support to the Center for Vocational Training, an established quality provider of Swiss-style ‘dual system’ vocational education in Myanmar, including life and technical skills education for disadvantaged youth.

DRC – Contribution to the Development of an Effective Response to Mixed Migration in the Horn of Africa and Yemen

This intervention aims at preventing violations against people in mixed migration movements, whether refugees, asylum seekers or migrants, through a sequence of interconnected activities that complement the UNHCR funded project providing protection and assistance in response to mixed migration movements in the Horn of Africa and Yemen. It builds on the results of Phase I and combines enhanced protection monitoring and service delivery to mixed migrants, awareness raising among host communities and duty bearers, and data collection and analysis on migration movements. These activities will positively impact the development of a Yemeni migration management policy.

This project was aimed to improve the knowledge and experience for the implementation of Geographical Indications protection system in Romania (GI). In cooperation with public and private actors, registration procedures and certification processes have been accompanied and the knowledge in developing market studies and marketing strategies enhanced. Water Diplomacy and Governance in key Transboundary Hot Spots

Avec une concurrence pour l’accès à l’eau toujours plus intense, le partage des bénéfices des eaux transfrontières (rivières, bassins hydrographiques, eaux souterraines) représente un défi majeur pour les pays riverains, voire à l’échelle mondiale. Ce programme contribue à une utilisation durable et équitable de ces eaux par des accords intergouvernementaux, issus de mécanismes de consultations consensuels et inclusifs entre les Etats concernés, en Asie centrale, Amérique centrale, Afrique de l’Est et australe.

Integrated Nutrition, Food Security and Livelihoods & WASH program in Aweil East, Northern Bahr el Ghazal

ACF's intervention aims to decrease the morbidity and mortality rates through the detection and treatment of malnutrition and its underlying causes. ACF will use an integrated approach focusing on nutrition, food security and livelihoods, and WASH. NBeG is one of the vulnerable states at risk of nutrition emergencies in South Su-dan. ACF is an experienced partner who has been carrying out nutrition interventions in NBeG for several years.

Direct Action: Support to Families and Communities Hosting Syrian Refugees Phase II [PRO]

Protective host shelter environment for 15’000 Syrian refugees is improved over 6 months through support to hosting capacities and livelihood development of 1,800 Lebanese families hosting Syrian refugees in Akkar Region (Wadi Khaled and Akroum areas). This project will be implemented through a SDC direct action cash modality and in partnership with a local NGO, Mada association. It will be implemented in close coordination with Lebanese local authorities, UNHCR and affected municipalities and communities.
