Relations between Switzerland and Barbados are good but limited in scope. Barbados is a popular holiday destination, attracting thousands of Swiss tourists each year.
Key aspects of diplomatic relations
Switzerland and Barbados have signed agreements in areas such as double taxation, the automatic exchange of information in tax matters, investment protection, cooperation on the transfer of sentenced persons, air traffic and the reciprocal waiver of visa requirements. The Swiss embassy in Caracas (Venezuela) represents Switzerland's interests in Barbados.
Economic cooperation
In 2023 Switzerland imported goods worth CHF 280,000 from Barbados. Swiss exports amounted to CHF 5 million – mainly watches and jewellery.

History of bilateral relations
Switzerland and Barbados have maintained diplomatic relations since 1980. Switzerland opened an honorary consulate on the island in 1993.
