Diplomatic exchanges between the two countries are limited in scope. The Swiss embassy in Mexico City and the honorary consul in Belize City represent Swiss interests in Belize.
Economic cooperation
Trade ties between Switzerland and Belize are limited in scope. In 2023, Switzerland imported goods worth CHF 350,000 from Belize, primarily comprising agricultural products, textiles and precious metals. Swiss exports to Belize slightly exceeded CHF 1.7 million in value and mainly consisted of pharmaceutical products, watches and metals.

Researchers and artists who are citizens of Belize can apply to the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships.

History of bilateral relations
Switzerland recognised Belize when it achieved independence in 1981. The two countries have maintained diplomatic relations since 1988.
The Swiss ambassador accredited to Belize is based in Mexico City. Switzerland has been represented by an honorary consul in Belize City since 1996.
