Innovative, harmonious, effective

The presidency of the United Nations Human Rights Council, held this year by the Swiss diplomat Jürg Lauber, can count on the support of Swiss design.

Iconic furniture created by Swiss designers decorates the office of the presidency, conveying an image of innovative and harmonious efficiency, in line with the objectives that Switzerland has set for its action within the Council.

Our country is working to strengthen the Council's action and impact, to promote human rights within the United Nations system and to support their implementation at the national level. And it does so by capitalizing on its ability to build bridges between different groups and positions.

The president - elected ad personam - works to build diplomatic spaces to allow the achievement of compromise solutions accepted by as many states as possible.

Harmony in the work of the Council is therefore one of his priorities. The furniture in his office, generously loaned by Swiss designers, perfectly reflects this approach, as well as the desire to innovate combined with efficiency that characterizes Switzerland's action within the United Nations.
