The next major UN conference will take place at the end of August 2023 in New York, where a delegation will attend the negotiations to elaborate the first UN convention against cybercrime.
Switzerland is also strongly committed to the fight against corruption and will participate in September in different meetings linked to the UN convention against corruption (UNCAC). In December, Switzerland will attend the 10th conference of the State Parties to the UNCAC in Atlanta. Negotiations and preparations to this important conference will start several weeks ahead of the event.
Furthermore, the Swiss mission will also participate in different working groups linked to the UN convention against transnational organized crime (UNTOC), for example in the fields of trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.
Switzerland is a very committed member of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) and will promote its positions in the thematic discussions of the CND in October and December.
A significant contributor to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Switzerland will participate in the General Conference of the organization at the end of November.
An important actor in the field of outer space activities, Switzerland will also participate in the UNOOSA/Austria World Space Forum 2023 at the end of the year.
