Work visa applications for special cases
Regarding work visa applications for above not mentioned special cases (for instance applications which have to be submitted directly to this representation by order of the competent cantonal migration office, the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the UN in Geneva or the Protocol of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA in Bern), we solicit the applicants to directly contact the responsible Swiss representation (Embassy or Consulate) by e-mail or phone, indicating last name, first name, DOB, nationality and reason for the visa request.
The application will be forwarded to the competent cantonal authorities in Switzerland for a decision. The Embassy of Switzerland can only issue the visa after approval by the competent authorities. The total processing time is approximately 8-12 weeks. This time is an approximation only and may vary considerably depending on the canton responsible and the elements of the application.
