CAIRO, Egypt – The Embassy of Switzerland has invited talented Swiss chocolatier Romain Leemann to Egypt where he will host workshops and demonstrations on the art of chocolate-making and unveil a special artisanal creation in Cairo - a Sphinx sculpture made of 50 kilograms of dark chocolate.

The Embassy is cooperating with Conrad Cairo to launch a “Chocolate Festival” in the Egyptian capital between October 13-15. The festival will commence on October 13 with a press conference held at the Conrad Cairo from 5-7 p.m. where Romain Leemann will display his sculpture and explain his work and planned activities in Egypt.

“Switzerland is globally renowned for its chocolate industry and we wish to share some of its gastronomical expertise in Egypt. The Chocolate Festival and Romain Leemann’s creations will add a special culinary dimension to the strong Egyptian-Swiss relations,” said Markus Leitner, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Egypt.
