As soon as the life cycle of a device comes to an end, the question of the sustainable disposal of plastic, aluminium, batteries and other components arises. Thanks to innovative technologies, PMI can largely answer this question in the case of iQos products today. According to Miguel Coleta, the resource recovery for these products has already been increased to 84% and work is ongoing to further raise this quota. According to the Director for Sustainability, economic stability and the good investment climate in Hungary were decisive criteria when the group decided in favour of Hungary and invested HUF 3 billion. Tamás Menczer, State Secretary for International Cooperation in the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, emphasized that this investment meant another 100 jobs that could be made available in Hungary. It is also important to him to mention that, besides Hungary, the group has so far only operated a comparable facility in Japan.
