Local news, 21.09.2021

The plant built for the Hungarian subsidiary of Sensirion AG was inaugurated in the regional technology park of Debrecen on September 21, 2021. The 10 million Euro investment was realized jointly by the Szinorg Group and the Xanga Group and handed over to the Swiss investor as a turnkey rental.

Sustainability played an extremely important role in the construction of the production facility, which is why the plant in Debrecen - similar to the Swiss main plant in Stäfa - was designed in such a way that it does not use fossil fuels. The energy-saving LED lighting and the use of recyclable packaging material also reflect the sustainability-oriented corporate philosophy of Sensirion AG.

Since the expansion of production capacities represents a strategic expansion for the parent company, this investment did not lead to any job relocation from Switzerland. In addition, Sensirion decided to station a development team for Sensirion Automotive Solutions in Debrecen, which is able to carry out independent projects in the automotive industry. The company is also a supplier in medical technology, in various industrial sectors and for producers of consumer goods.

In his short address, Ambassador Paroz emphasized the important role of good cooperation between investors and local authorities, which is the basis for successful bilateral economic relations. With this in mind, he thanked the city administration for the active support of Swiss investors in Debrecen.
