During the Annual Meeting, the Swiss delegation headed by Elisabeth von Capeller, met their Hungarian partners from the National Coordination Unit (NCU), amongst them State Secretary Dr. Eszter Vitályos and Deputy State Secretary Zsigmond Perényi. The participants of the Annual Meeting highlighted the fruitful cooperation and the already achieved results and also discussed the future cooperation.
Besides the Annual Meeting the Swiss delegation visited several projects financed by the Swiss Contribution to reduce the economic and social disparities in Hungary. In this regard, they attended an information event related to a Community Policing project which aims at practicing the different forms of security oriented cooperation between police and the citizens. On the same day the delegation participated in a press conference of a project whose objective is to upgrade the air quality monitoring network of Hungary (see press release). Finally the Swiss delegation paid a visit to the site where currently 12.5 km of mobile dams are stored to be used in case of flood. On 21th of May two projects in Ózd and Miskolc were visited where water supply systems are rehabilitated and extended significantly.
