The Program for the year 2016 of the Swiss Embassy in Hungary and its partners will contain various stages throughout the year all over Hungary. The “Grand Tour of Switzerland in Hungary” is an initiative by the Swiss Embassy in Budapest. Our aim is to present those places in Hungary that have a special connection to Switzerland – be it historical, cultural or economic links. The Hungarian small town of Szentgotthárd, for example, cannot deny its link to the longest tunnel of the world, the Gotthard-Tunnel in the Swiss Alps. But there is more to discover: Helvécia, Pannonhalma, Pécs and even the Lake Balaton have connections to Switzerland you would have never imagined.
