Dear Visitor,

I would like to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Malaysia.

The Swiss Embassy has the noble task to further develop and deepen the existing excellent bilateral relations between Malaysia and Switzerland, namely regarding the political relations as well as the cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, culture, science and research, education as well as tourism.

On consular matters, you might be aware, since 28th May 2012, the consular services of this embassy have been transferred to the Regional Consular Centre (RCC) in Bangkok, and they will take care of matters such as application for (lost) passports, registration of marriages, births, change of address, certifications and naturalization.

For C-Visas (Tourism, Business, visits), the Austrian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is the competent representation to issue Schengen Visas for trips to Switzerland or the Principality of Liechtenstein. However, the RCC in Bangkok is responsible for student and working visas, and visas for stays longer than 90 days.

Kindly contact the relevant centers as per your requirements.

On a personal note, I would like to announce that my term in Malaysia has come to an end in August. Marina and I enjoyed very much our stay in Malaysia. We were received with open arms by the welcoming and friendly Malaysian and we had a lot of opportunities to visit and explore this beautiful and fascinating country.

The team in Malaysia and the Regional Consular Centre in Bangkok will continue to offer all of you excellent services. Thank you for visiting our website!

Michael Winzap
Ambassador of Switzerland
