Message from the Consul General

In the name of the entire team at the Consulate General of Switzerland in St. Petersburg I welcome you to our website and hope that you will find the information you are looking for.

After the first Consulate, led by an honorary representative, opened in 1816, a fully-fledged legation was inaugurated in 1906. After the Russian revolution the Swiss representation was subsequently transferred to the new capital.
In 2006 a Consulate General was opened at today’s address, representing thus again the Swiss interests in St. Petersburg and its surroundings.
Since 2014 all consular services (support of Swiss Abroad registered with the Regional Consular Center in Moscow and visiting Swiss tourists as well as visas for foreign nationals intendig to go to Switzerland) are handled by the Regional Consular Center in Moscow at the Embassy of Switzerland in Russia.

Today the Consulate’s main focus lies in "interest safe-keeping”, mainly consisting of promoting the development of economic exchanges and trade between Russia and Switzerland, to promote Switzerland image in and around Saint Petersburg and the greater northwest of the Russian Federation as well as supporting cultural events connected with our country.

You have a project, an idea of exchange with a Swiss institution? You would like to set up an event with Swiss partners? Do not hesitate to contact us sharing your idea with us. We will be happy to examine the possibilities of a collaboration with you.

Thank you for visiting our website.

With best regards

Roger M. Kull
