Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Covid-19: Please follow the instructions of the local authorities and the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Federal Office of Public Health.

In Senegal, a curfew from 8pm to 6am was imposed on 23 March 2020 for a period of three months and a travel ban between regions was issued. Most other countries that the embassy covers took similar measures.

If you wish to return to Switzerland, we advise you to stay in contact with travel agencies and airlines as additional flights are organized. Please also check the websites of the French, Portuguese, Spanish, Belgian etc. embassies in your country of residence/vacation. The embassies generally inform about the repatriation flights of their airlines, such as Air France, TAP, Iberia, Brussels Airlines, etc. Please make sure to check that your travel onward to Switzerland from a European capital is assured.

Follow us on Facebook (@AmbassadeSuisseDakar) and Twitter (@SuisseSenegal). The Swiss embassy will forward information on repatriation flights known to it.

If European states or the EU offer flights for an organized departure, the Embassy will do its best to ensure that Swiss nationals can also take advantage of any such offer. Please let the Embassy know if you are interested in such an offer and inform the Embassy by providing your first name, surname, date of birth, telephone number, actual residence and e-mail. Costs apply.

The Embassy calls on Swiss nationals travelling abroad to register on the “Travel Admin App”. This will enable the Crisis Management Centre (KMZ) to better evaluate the places where an organized return is necessary.
