The Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad provided a magnificent setting for athletes from all over Europe. Switzerland was the best represented country, with almost 35 athletes participating, including Tokyo Olympic Games bronze medalist Linda Indergand. On the first day, Lukas Lanzrein (Diplomatic Attaché) and Maxime Jost (Embassy Attaché) visited the Swiss Team (see photo) and attended the opening ceremony. The outcome of these European Championships is very positive for Switzerland, which won many medals, including gold and bronze in the men's elite category (Lars Forster in gold, Filippo Colombo in bronze), but above all for Serbia and Novi Sad, which, thanks to this event, found a place on the world cycling map.
