Switzerland supports cycle-tourism in Srem

With Swiss support, a 4.2 km cycle path has been completed in Srem with the aim of linking urban, rural and protected natural areas. As part of the project "Bicycle tours toward rural and regional development Srem", growth of tourism and economic potential was supported to assist improve the everyday life in this region.

Support for Establishment of Citizens’ Advisory Services

The Swiss development programme, Swiss PRO, published a call for proposals to support local self-governments in establishment of Citizens’ advisory services with the aim of provision of assistance to at least 5’000 citizens from vulnerable groups to exercise their rights.


E-Governance Launched in Serbia with Swiss Support

As part of the project "Property Tax Reform", the Government of Switzerland supported the new information system for local tax administrations with 200,000 EUR. The conference was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, the Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government, the Minister of Finance, and the Swiss Ambassador Philippe Guex.


National Awards for Good Governance at the Local Level

With Swiss support, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government (MPALSG) and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) have conducted the first national annual competition for selecting best practice in applying good governance principles at the local level for 2018. Swiss PRO, the Swiss government-supported development program, made possible annual good governance awards for towns and municipalities in Serbia.


Acting director of Science Technology Park Belgrade awarded with Sretenjski orden

For a special contribution and long-term commitment to the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in Serbia, acting director of Science Technology Park Belgrade, Gordana Danilovic Grkovic, was awarded with a gold medal of Sretenjski orden, that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, handed to the distinguished individuals and institutions on the occasion of the Statehood Day on February 15th.



Switzerland hosts civil society evening

International Migrants Day in Serbia: A different view

Migrants staying in reception centers in Serbia were in the focus of the Migrants’ day celebration in Obrenovac near Belgrade. There were no official speeches, but direct exchange with some 20 representatives of migrants accommodated in Serbia. The migrants showed their talents and spoke about their life stories. Younger migrants, already attending local elementary schools, were signing, reciting Serbian songs and dancing Serbian kolo, while the adults presented their personal hobbies.
