New Cooperation Programme for Serbia 2026–2029

The new Swiss Cooperation Programme for Serbia 2026–29 was launched by the President of the Swiss Confederation, H.E. Guy Parmelin, in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Djuro Macut. Under the slogan “Joint efforts for innovative solutions and lasting results”, the new Programme will focus on topics of economic development, green transition and democratic governance.


Official state visit to Serbia of the Swiss President and Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin

Swiss President and Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, accompanied by his wife and a high-level Swiss business delegation, paid an official state visit to Serbia on 27–28 April 2026, marking 110 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Serbia. The visit highlighted the close ties between the two countries across many fields, including the importance of the Serbian community in Switzerland, which numbers around 130,000 people. The occasion was marked by a visible display of Swiss and Serbian flags across parts of the Serbian capital.




Swiss Government invests two million euros to improve living conditions of informal waste pickers

The "PRO – Local Governance for People and Nature" program, supported by the Swiss Government and implemented by United Nations agencies, will enhance the living conditions of around 1,600 informal waste pickers and their families. The Swiss Government allocated 2 million euros to improve waste pickers’ economic standing, social inclusion and access to public services.
