It was also a chance to celebrate the progress being made in Primary Health Care (PHC) in Tajikistan and the contributions of family doctors through SDC’s support to PHC projects under the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute.
During her speech addressed to future doctors, Muazzama Djamalova, SDC Health Domain Senior Specialist emphasized: “The quality of services is determined by three attributes: Knowledge, Skills and Attitude. Acquire knowledge, develop clinical skills and your moral qualities, be real doctors!”
While the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute that implements SDC’s “Medical Education Reform Project” together with TSMU were responsible for the preparation of the event, all relevant key stakeholders and other institutions including representatives from the government of Tajikistan, civil society and donor agencies actively participated in the celebration by sharing their knowledge and insights with the students.
