During the meeting, the committee led by the Chairman Professor Elias Jengo briefed the Ambassador on plans of the upcoming 8th edition of the art exhibition expected to take place next year. The Ambassador commended the efforts of the team for their work in promoting visual arts over the last decade.

Every two years the East Africa Art Biennale Association organises a fine arts exhibition featuring artists from the Eastern Africa Region. The biannual exhibition also includes limited space for artists from other countries in Africa and beyond.

EASTAFAB was founded in 2003 with the sole aim of promoting visual art in East Africa. Since its inception all the biennales have been held in Dar es Salaam. The upcoming biennale plans to hold exhibitions and workshops across East Africa including Arusha, Nairobi, Kampala Kigali and Bujumbura.
