I am glad to welcome you to our Embassy’s website.
It is a true honor and privilege for me to represent Switzerland in Turkey. I and my colleagues in Ankara and Istanbul are determined to further strengthen our bilateral relations, inspired by the principles of Swiss foreign policy.
The diplomatic relations between Turkey and Switzerland date back to 1899, and have been developing ever since. Two important treaties for Turkey have been signed in Switzerland: the Lausanne treaty in 1923 and the Montreux treaty in 1936. About 130 thousand Turkish citizens live in Switzerland and, in 2016, more than 200 thousand Swiss citizens have visited Turkey. In the economic field, bilateral trade and investments are also significant, and several presidential and ministerial visits have enhanced the relations between the two countries.
In this website, you will find information regarding services provided to Swiss citizens in Turkey, representations of Switzerland in Turkey, travelling to Switzerland, scholarships, bilateral relations between the two countries. Please feel free to explore our website.
