Through its partnership with the International Research and Consulting Centre (IRCC) of the Institute of Federalism (IFF) at the University of Fribourg, SDC promotes locally owned governance reforms in developing countries. The Program provides comparative research, advisory services and capacity development on good governance, including federalism and decentralisation, to strengthen inclusive institutions, democratic resilience, prosperity, conflict prevention and sustainable development.

Au Mali, la Suisse accompagne la consolidation des filières lait local et pomme de terre dans les régions de Sikasso, Bougouni et Koutiala. Face aux contraintes persistantes de productivité, de commercialisation et d’accès aux services, le projet renforce les capacités des acteurs et favorise l’investissement privé et la pérennisation des acquis. Capitalisant sur dix ans d’engagement, il vise à accroître durablement les revenus et l’emploi, notamment des femmes et des jeunes, et contribue à la stabilité économique et sociale du sud du Mali, également dans l’intérêt à long terme de la Suisse.

GEI works with countries over the long term, starting with an assessment of their needs. It builds skills through training and expert support. Through its global network GEI also helps development partners, partner countries and civil society organisations work together and use evidence to make better decisions.
Strengthening Jordan’s National Data System through Support to the 2026 General Population and Housing Census

Switzerland supports Jordan in conducting the 2026 Population and Housing Census through a contribution to UNFPA. The census will provide vital data on the country’s population and living conditions, helping policymakers make informed decisions, allocate resources effectively, and plan for Jordan’s future development. The project will also strengthen digital systems to make census data more accessible and useful for years to come.
Palestinian Innovation and Entrepreneurship Catalyst (PIEC) scale up

This intervention strengthens the Palestinian startup ecosystem by transforming fragmented support initiatives into a fully integrated venture-building pipeline that guides startups and entrepreneurs from idea stage to investment readiness and regional expansion. Switzerland will partner with existing local ecosystem actors and utilise proven support models, while addressing critical gaps in coordination and access to finance.
Regional Labour Migration Governance Programme Central Asia

The programme strengthens evidence-based migration governance in Central Asia to improve safe, fair, regular and skills-based labour migration pathways, expanding opportunities for the millions of male and female labour migrants. Through its implementing partners IOM and ACTED, Switzerland supports regional collaboration, national multi-stakeholder partnerships, incl private sector and civil society, as well as local women-led initiatives, responding to the increasingly diversified migration landscape in Central Asia.

Les jeunes bénéficient de parcours professionnalisant leur permettant d'acquérir progressivement les compétences nécessaires à leur insertion professionnelle, en mobilisant les acteurs publics et privés.

La contribution de la Coopération suisse au Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les réfugiés (HCR) appuie les efforts visant à faciliter la coexistence pacifique entre les rapatriés, les déplacés internes et les populations hôtes en RCA.

This multi-donor programme aims to improve living conditions for Palestinian communities in Area C. It strengthens village councils by supporting basic infrastructure and essential services, including water, electricity, roads, and education, while enhancing local government capacity and planning. Les départements du Sud et du Sud-est d’Haïti sont très exposés aux aléas naturels. Le projet accompagne 6 communes (2 du Sud + 4 du Sud’Est) à développer une approche de gestion intégrée des risques. Il appuiera la protection des populations face aux risques grâce à des micro-projets de mitigation dans les territoires à risques identifiés. Il renforcera la coordination territoriale en vue d’une meilleure préparation des communautés et des institutions face aux catastrophes et d’accroitre l’efficacité et la rapidité de la réponse.

The humanitarian situation in Somalia remains dire, with access constraints limiting support to vulnerable communities. As conflict, insecurity, and poor infrastructure leave many areas reachable only by air, the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) provides a vital lifeline. Through its support to UNHAS, Switzerland enables humanitarian and development actors to sustain operations, deliver life-saving assistance, and reach those most in need.
Strengthening Social Cohesion through Civil Society and Media in Moldova (COSMA)

People, communities and regions are increasingly divided in Moldova and trust in state institutions is historically low. Building dialogue between people, including with refugees from Ukraine, (ethnic) communities, regions, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), independent media, and public institutions is essential to rebuild trust and solidarity. This project will strengthen the capacity of CSOs and independent media to act as agents of accountability and social cohesion and contribute to a more cohesive and peaceful society in Moldova.
