Biotrade South Africa, Phase I

The Project "Biotrade South Africa" will foster the development, branding and export of innovative cosmetics and food products based on indigenous, natural ingredients collected in the wild in an environmentally and biodiversity sustaining manner. New nature-based products have both prospects of high value (thanks to up-scale demand in developed markets) and high employment (due to labour-intensive collection methods). Hence, the sustainable collection of natural ingredients can contribute to both value addition of biodiversity, and thereby its conservation, as well as income generation for rural, disadvantaged population groups. The Project will be implemented by PhytoTrade Africa, a not-for-profit Natural Products Trade Association in Southern Africa.
Corporate Governance Programme for Southeast Europe and Central Asia

After two phases of successful implementation of Corporate Governance (CG) projects in Azerbaijan and the Western Balkans, a follow-on phase for a region-wide Europe and Central Asia Corporte Governance (ECA CG) Program has been approved by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO. Two independent evaluations, as well as a thorough assessment of the current projects, concluded that interventions were effective and relevant.

Waste Water Treatment Plant in Thala and Feriana

This project aims at implementing wastewater infrastructure in the cities of Thala (15'000 inhabitants) and Fériana (27'000 inhabitants) in the Governorate of Kasserine, Tunisia. The infrastructure includes the financing of the treatment plants, the extension of the wastewater networks and pumping stations for both cities.
Housing Microfinance Project

The living standard for most low-income households in Kyrgyzstan is low. The SECO-financed Kyrgyz Housing Microfinance Project applies an innovative approach of how low-income residents can themselves on a "do-it-yourself" basis improve their homes. So-called Housing Microfinance Loans for these home improvements will be provided by banks or microfinance institutions.
Financial Sector Strengthening Indonesia, Phase I

With this project SECO's Macroeconomic Support Division and its Private sector development Division jointly support a Financial Sector Strengthening project managed by the World Bank in Indonesia. Financing will be expected to be split as follows: 3 million USD financing from Macroeconomic Support and 1.5 million USD from Private Sector Development. The Trust is expected to run from 2012 through 2017. The contribution will be made in USD.
Accounting Training Semarang, Indonesia, Phase II
