Some 20 million people have been left suffering in the wake of the floods of the century that hit Pakistan in 2010. Switzerland delivered emergency assistance and is presently supporting the disaster-hit region in the rehabilitation of infrastructure. Over 2000 water wells and 16'000 groundwater pumps have been cleaned and disinfected. In addition, the SDC is active in the rebuilding of schools and bridges that were destroyed. This video traces the SDC’s path from emergency relief to reconstruction, while at the same time delving into current problems and challenges.
